VOLKSWAGEN PHAETON: I'm still torn over the logic of this car. Of course it's a bit absurd. But isn't that a VW characteristic? The Beetle was an anachronism at first.

VOLKSWAGON PHAETON: There are several thousand Phaetons out there now, roaming the highways and byways of America. You can usually pick one up used for just under $50k.

VOLKSWAGON PHAETON: The art director, Steve Yaffe, told me we actually got the car running, messed with the extreme ends of the 4-zone climate control, and shot this with an infrared camera.

HUSH PUPPIES: We created these ads in the midst of the dotcom frenzy.

VW NEW BEETLE SAFETY CAMPAIGN: The Insurance Institute For Highway Safety crashed the car. The part you sit in survived. The end.

VW NEW BEETLE SAFETY CAMPAIGN: I owned a New Beetle for a while. I could fit my entire drum set inside, if I folded the rear seats down.

ANHEUSER-BUSCH AMERICAN ORIGINALS: These beers were based on recipes brewed in the late 1800s. So we created a print campaign that seemed to come out that era as well.
